We are seeking an exceptional Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Social Media Experience team at Canva. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of video editing and social media content creation for millions of users worldwide.

Job Description
  • Work closely with product designers and product managers to develop innovative features for Canva's video and audio editing capabilities.
  • Explore cutting-edge technologies to enhance existing features and introduce new ones to our users.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers through code review, pair programming, and technical leadership.
  • Design efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in engineering design and code reviews.
Requirements
  • Strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key browser concepts such as the event loop, bubbling/capturing, and rendering pipeline.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, particularly in video editing, which requires in-depth technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with diverse groups of people and drive impact across the organization.
  • Strong technical leadership to navigate projects and problems from chaos to clarity.
