The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and well-rounded Area Manager to join our team at JD Sports. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and visual presentation of our stores in Queensland, including Brisbane and Gold Coast.
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing international brand and be an integral part of new store openings across the region. You will be responsible for leading by example, setting management expectations, and managing performance across your team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Training, mentoring, and coaching Team Members to work towards goals and succession planning
- Managing all key financial KPIs to deliver growth on budget
- Visiting all stores on regular rotation to develop teams and ensure stores are performing at the required level for current and future growth
- Recruiting, inducting, and training management teams to build bench strength for future expansion
- Leading and developing the team to deliver consistency across business intelligence
- Managing customer experience standards in store
- Driving management teams to budget set daily and weekly on all business KPIs
- Managing priorities and responsibilities from all areas of the business, including Head Office, Distribution Centre, Merchandise, and Buying teams
- Escalation point of contact for all store issues
Who You Are
We are looking for a highly experienced and well-rounded retailer with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in Area Management. You will have previous experience in a fast-paced and similar retailer, and possess all the necessary leadership skills to train, coach, and develop your team.
Key requirements include:
- A proven track record in driving and exceeding set KPIs while motivating your stores to achieve their set KPIs
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, tasks, and overall expectations
- Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly analytical individual with a strong attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
