About the Role

The Principal Governance & Legislation Advisor is a key position within TAFE SA, responsible for leading and managing complex matters that deliver solution-focused legal advice and enable business units to make informed, risk-based decisions.

This role leads the design, development, and implementation of a strategic legal framework, and oversees a multi-disciplinary team in delivering specialist advice and support to TAFE SA business units and staff on legal and regulatory compliance, policies, procedures, delegations, and regulatory reporting.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for providing expert advice on leases, agreements, and contracts with private sector providers and business customers, and serving as TAFE SA's high-level interface with the Crown Solicitors Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic legal framework
  • Oversee a multi-disciplinary team in delivering specialist advice and support
  • Provide expert advice on leases, agreements, and contracts
  • Act as TAFE SA's high-level interface with the Crown Solicitors Office
Requirements
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Ability to work out of hours and travel intrastate and interstate
  • Participation in the department's Performance Development Program
