The role of Auxiliary Firefighter is a unique opportunity to serve as part of an emergency service agency, contributing to the safety and well-being of Queensland communities.
As an auxiliary firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities, and developing competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses.
This role requires a high level of physical fitness, manual dexterity, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also be expected to operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to fire and other emergency incidents, prioritizing the safety of people and property.
- Contribute to community education activities, promoting fire safety and emergency preparedness.
- Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills, training courses, and professional development.
- Australian Permanent Resident Status
- Manual C Class driver's licence
- Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
- Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
