About the Role
This is a leadership position that requires a strategic thinker to shape the future of environmental stewardship across Australian operations. As a seasoned environmental executive, you will be responsible for driving Alcoa's environmental agenda and aligning it with global sustainability goals.
- Set and lead the environmental strategy for Australian operations, ensuring compliance with state agreements and other relevant legislation.
- Champion biodiversity innovation and collaborate with Alcoa's forest research centre to develop pioneering environmental solutions.
- Provide expert regulatory guidance across all Australian sites and support growth and expansion initiatives while maintaining environmental integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive environmental strategy that meets Alcoa's sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address regulatory changes, compliance trends, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Mentor a team of environmental professionals and foster talent development to build a high-performing team.
What You Can Bring to the Role
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field (master's preferred).
- Extensive executive-level experience in environmental leadership within mining, metals, or heavy industry.
- Deep understanding of Western Australian environmental legislation.
