Essential Role: Food Service Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our food service team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

This permanent part-time role is responsible for preparing and serving enjoyable, nutritious meals that cater to individual requirements and dietary needs.

The successful candidate will utilise their creativity and passion for food to drive menu planning, food preparation, and presentation. They will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to legislative and regulatory requirements.

The position requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a cohesive work team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with residents, families, staff, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals that meet resident requirements and dietary needs.
  • Lead and assist the hospitality team in meal preparation, presentation, and kitchen maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service, interacting with residents, families, staff, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Liaise with centre staff for feedback on meal quality and updates to dietary requirements.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in an aged care environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work positively and productively to deliver quality meals that meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food hygiene practices and safety protocols.
  • Ability to develop a strong, cohesive work team and motivate staff to achieve excellence.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
