We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Compliance Officer to join our Building Services Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of building compliance functions for Swimming Pools and Spas, providing customer service, administrative, and clerical support, and contributing to the delivery of service improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate delivery of building compliance functions for Swimming Pools and Spas
- Provide customer service, administrative, and clerical support in the professional operation of the Building Services Unit
- Contribute to the delivery of service improvements with direction provided by the Municipal Building Surveyor and Building Services Lead
- Work with the Municipal Building Surveyor and Building Services Lead to establish a Building Unit that will be considered a model within Local Government and which constantly strives for continuous improvement and is a high-performing team with a strong culture of collaboration and service excellence
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, reporting, and advice are provided to the public and Council staff
- Well-developed administrative, organisational, and customer services skills and experience
- High-level computer proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge in the application of Pathway, Objective, and GIS is desirable
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to develop processes and solutions and to be able to assess service performance and identify methods for improvement
- Experience working in a local government building or compliance unit or related public sector area will be highly regarded
