Job Title

About this Role:

  • Lead mining engineering efforts on world-class iron ore project, one of the largest undeveloped high-grade hematite deposits.
  • Oversee mining components of project study, including mine planning, pit optimization, production strategies, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, environmental, and other teams to deliver integrated and high-quality study outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and technical authority on mining engineering matters.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and identify key project risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Oversee external consultants and contractors, ensuring quality deliverables and maintaining strong feedback loop with study team.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in large-scale mining projects, particularly in open-pit iron ore or bulk commodities.
  • Strong expertise in mine planning, strategic evaluation, and project development, with specific knowledge of high rainfall, rugged terrain, and challenging environments.
  • Proficient in mining software such as GEOVIA Whittle, Minemax Scheduler, and dilution modeling.
