Physiotherapy Trainee

About the Role:

The Mater Health Physiotherapy Department is seeking a Physiotherapist Trainee to support their team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic clinical and support duties under the supervision of experienced Physiotherapists in Acute services, orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal outpatients.
  • Provide feedback to supervising Physiotherapists on patient outcomes and status changes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical record entries, co-signed by supervising Physiotherapists.
  • Set up and maintain gymnasiums, therapy rooms, equipment, and resources for individual and group programs.
  • Develop and maintain clinical resources and patient education materials.
  • Identify and contribute to quality/service improvement activities to enhance clinical services and patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Current enrolment in the final year of a Physiotherapy tertiary-level program from a recognised institution is essential.
  • Recent Mater Health student placement experience is highly regarded.
  • Ability to work under direction and within a defined scope of practice in a complex and demanding environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with professional and multidisciplinary teams, patients, and carers.
  • Proven organisation, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound computer and digital literacy skills.
