About the role Reporting to the Team Leader you will work directly with Aboriginal children and families in the child protection system striving to improve outcomes and strengthen family capacity This role ensures children can safely remain at home or transition back while collaborating with government and sector partners The position operates under Section 18 of the Child Youth and Families Act (2005) empowering to lead decision-making in place of DFFH Child Protection About You engage with Aboriginal children young people and families to support their holistic wellbeing-physical emotional social cultural and spiritual Working within the Children Youth and Families Act (2005) and guidelines the role involves assessing risks developing culturally grounded safety plans and strengthening family connections to culture and community Responsibilities include implementing strength-based and healing practices advocating in the Children's Court and maintaining accurate case records The position also builds collaborative relationships with families community organisations and government partners to ensure culturally safe wrap-around support Additionally upholds health safety and compliance standards while promoting the rights and voices of Aboriginal children and families

Requirements Social Work or related degree (child development trauma family dynamics) with practical experience OR Diploma in Community Services (2+ years) with a child welfare focus fieldwork and case management training Current COVID-19 vaccination(including booster dose as applicable)
