
Aboriginal Family Support Specialist

This specialist service provides safe accommodation and holistic support for Aboriginal women and children experiencing family violence in northern Melbourne.
The organisation delivers culturally strong, trauma-informed support that empowers women to make decisions about their futures. As an advocate, you will work with the team to ensure delivery of respectful and culturally appropriate services.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake risk assessments, safety planning, and implement risk management strategies.
- Provide case management and advocacy for women with complex needs.
- Support women and children through intake, assessment, case planning, and exit planning.
- Deliver direct support including court support, referrals, and tenancy assistance.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualifications in social work or community services.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and family violence dynamics.
- Experience in case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy.
- Knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
