As a Senior Peer Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to individuals managing mental health and substance abuse issues. This role requires sharing your personal recovery experiences to engage and empower participants, their families, clinicians, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intentionally and safely share your lived and/or living experience of recovery
  • Offer a supportive and empathetic approach working alongside others in their recovery journey
  • Engage and empower participants, their families, clinicians, and the community to better understand the personal perspective
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to Peer Support workers across Mental Health teams
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within a supportive, inclusive, and diverse workplace
Requirements
  • Identify as having experienced mental illness and/or substance abuse and demonstrate current stability in your recovery
  • Relevant training/qualifications in peer support (such as a Cert IV in Peer Support)
  • At least four years' experience delivering peer support services in a paid or volunteer capacity
