Electrical Drafting Role

The Electrical Drafter plays a pivotal part in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector, where we are currently recruiting for a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and implement design information provided by engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage and produce high-quality design artifacts and technical documentation within agreed deadlines and standards.
  • Develop CAD drawings in AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure completeness of drawings before issuing for manufacturing/construction.
  • Collaborate with the Primary Engineering Team to support the design of high voltage infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.
  • Review and analyse project requirements, providing technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all design work.
Required Experience:
  • Previous experience in HV design for electrical substations would be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation software is essential.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, standards, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary studies in a relevant field are highly regarded for this position. However, candidates with substantial hands-on experience and a proven track record in HV Electrical Design Drafting will also be considered.

This is a mid-senior level full-time position, requiring strong expertise in electrical design and drafting, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
