Job Description
  • This is a senior leadership role in AUSTRAC's legal teams, providing specialist legal services to decision makers, executives and employees on matters affecting agency operations.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and developing a team of lawyers to provide independent, strategic and client-centric legal services.

Key Duties:

  • Leading the delivery of advice and litigation services on more complex matters in respect of current and emerging legal issues.
  • Overseeing the development of procedures and systems to enhance the efficiency of the in-house legal practice.
  • Managing the instruction and engagement of external legal providers.
  • Liaising and consulting on a range of matters with senior levels of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring compliance with service level standards.
  • Providing training to build legal literacy and capacity within the agency.
