We are seeking highly motivated and creative PhD candidates to join our dynamic research environment at a leading ARC Training Centre for Resource Efficient Alloys in a Circular Economy.

Our five-year initiative brings together leading academics, industry experts, and two Australian universities to deliver cutting-edge research and foster the next generation of leaders in sustainable alloy innovation.

Our team is passionate about addressing global challenges through science and engineering, and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our vision. The successful candidates will be awarded a tax-free stipend for up to 3 years and may also receive a full tuition fee waiver (up to 4 years) as an international candidate.

  • Net emission reduction through alloy design
  • fastAlloy: accelerating assessment of recycled cast alloys
  • fastAlloy: accelerating assessment of recycled wrought alloys
  • High strength light alloys via solid state recycling
  • Alloys for low energy processing
  • Repair and recycling of Ti and rare alloys using AFSD solid state recycling
  • Alloys that foster re-use
  • Reducing mass in housing by new building structure solutions and manufacturing methods
  • Design methodologies for recycling and re-use in construction
