The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has secured the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project, a significant infrastructure development that will enhance Sydney's motorway network.

The project involves the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Permit Officer to join our Commissioning team on the M6 Stage 1 Project. The role will be responsible for planning, implementation, and monitoring of commissioning permits and isolations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a positive safety culture across the project
  • Supervise and coordinate all activities relating to daily work permits
  • Work with the M6 Stage 1 Permit to Work Manager to establish an integrated permit team
  • Understand and be familiar with project Isolations, energisation, and PTW procedures and forms
  • Coordinate/review submission of all commissioning permits to work, including commissioning minor works permits, permits to energise, isolation, and non-isolation permits for works within a commissioning zone
  • Daily issue, relinquish, and closure of permits ensuring permit holders are briefed in work scope
  • Attend daily PTW coordination meetings
  • Auditing of commissioning permits to ensure compliance with the procedure is maintained

About the Role:

  • Must hold a current NSW Electrical license
  • Previous experience as a Commissioning Permit Officer within a tunnelling environment
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with Permit to Work and Isolation/Tagging systems and applicable legislation
  • Considerable experience working on major/large projects specifically within a Mechanical & Electrical scope
  • Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Email

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
