Electrical Engineer Job Description

As a key member of our Cloud Operations & Innovation team, you'll play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our cloud services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Our datacenter infrastructure is a complex and dynamic system, comprising over 200 datacenters in 32 countries and millions of servers. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll work closely with our commissioning teams to test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems, ensuring the highest levels of safety, security, and compliance.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and maintain electrical infrastructure designs and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless datacenter operations
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to optimize electrical system performance
  • Manage permitting and regulatory compliance for electrical infrastructure
  • Develop and review high-voltage installation safety management plans and operating agreements
  • Lead the planning and implementation of all HV, MV, and LV related works, including outage planning and operations
  • Mentor and develop personnel in HV systems and safe high-voltage practices
