We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Staff Specialist to lead our General Medicine department as Head of Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall functioning of the department, directly reporting to the Clinical Director of Medical and Cancer Services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the General Medicine department, ensuring high-quality patient care and service delivery.
- Contribute to the provision of inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) in General Medicine.
- Lead and mentor medical, nursing, and allied health staff, fostering interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration.
- Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring.
- Contribute to research and quality improvement activities, driving innovation and excellence in patient care.
- Actively support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services in the General Medicine department.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine.
- Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.
