Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service, providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. The organisation has a Head Office in Nhulunbuy and manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.

The Primary & Population Health Centre Manager will provide effective and sustainable management of all Milingimbi Primary and Population Health Centre operations, including determining, developing, and implementing strategies to manage gaps and risks associated with operational and clinical services. This role requires clinical leadership, operations, performance, and continuous quality improvement while working within a culturally safe framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Determining and implementing strategies to manage gaps and risks associated with operational and clinical services
  • Providing clinical leadership, operations, and performance management
  • Supporting the Director of Nursing and Midwifery to implement strategic directions, contemporary models of care, and continuous quality improvement activities

In exchange for your expertise and dedication, Miwatj Health offers a competitive salary ranging from $144,820 to $150,615 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation contributions. You will also receive relocation support of up to $10,000 (conditions apply), furnished accommodation, and the opportunity to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on meals and entertainment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination
  • An understanding of the issues faced by Yolngu people living in remote settings, knowledge, and experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level leadership, management, and organisational skills, including analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse/Health Professional/Practice Manager in a similar role and community population demographic and service profile
