About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Advisory: Provide expert advice to clients on compliance with local laws and regulations, instructing and liaising with correspondent law firms across the region.
  • Employment Law Expertise: Act for and advise global, multinational, and local clients on a range of employment issues, including start-up employment infrastructure, corporate governance, and senior executive incentive schemes.
  • Restructuring and Restructuring Exercises: Advise clients on large-scale restructuring exercises, including employee communications and drafting documents.
  • Structuring Issues: Advise clients on structuring issues.
  • Workforce Conduct and Investigations: Advise on workforce conduct issues and other internal issues, including carrying out fact-finding and internal investigations on behalf of clients, implementing recommendations.
  • Employment Support: Provide advice and support to clients on a full range of employment issues, including recruitment and sponsorship procedures, remuneration and benefits packages, grievance and disciplinary procedures, and issues arising on the termination of employment.
  • Corporate Support: Support the corporate department with employment issues arising out of transactions, such as undertaking employment due diligence, drafting warranties and indemnities in agreements, and the transfer of employees.
  • Employment Documentation: Draft and amend employment contracts, employee handbooks, policies, and procedures, and other employment-related documentation.
  • Industry Expertise: Advise clients across a range of sectors, including energy, transport, mining & resources, construction & engineering, insurance and reinsurance, financial services, telecommunications, and information technology, on employment-specific issues arising in these sectors.
  • Dispute Resolution: Defend clients on large-scale and complex employment disputes.
  • Dispute Resolution and Settlement: Advise clients on the settlement of disputes and draft settlement agreements.
  • Immigration Matters: Advise clients on immigration matters.
About You

We are looking for a Senior Associate level lawyer who is Australian or dual qualified with over 6 years' post-qualification experience to join our Corporate practice.

  • Employment Law Expertise: Have worked extensively on employment-related matters, with Australia-wide experience being an advantage.
  • Law Firm Experience: Have experience of working at a large-scale international or regional top-tier law firm.
  • Client Interaction: Demonstrate an ability to interact confidently with clients and develop business proactively.
  • Academic Performance: Have attained a degree certificate(s) from a reputable institution, maintaining strong academic performance.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Have a mature and flexible personality and be able to work well within a team.
  • Proactivity and Motivation: Be self-motivated and possess a very proactive attitude towards completing jobs and developing business.
