Job Title: Housing Support Specialist
About the OpportunityWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Housing Support Specialist to join our team in providing high-quality support to veterans and their families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
As a Housing Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in empowering clients to overcome barriers to securing and maintaining safe, stable, and sustainable housing. You will utilize your expertise in trauma-informed and strengths-based case management to guide clients through the complexities of the rental market and assist them in accessing public, social, and community housing options where eligible.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive and evidence-based support to clients facing housing challenges
- Develop and implement individualized housing goals through personalized case management plans
- Case manage clients who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness
- Assist with applications for social and community housing; private rental applications; and tenancy sustainment strategies and support
To be successful in this role, you will have an undergraduate degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or equivalent. Experience working in housing and homelessness services, with a strong understanding of relevant policies, support frameworks, and community resources, is highly regarded. Your ability to work effectively with diverse client groups and build strong relationships with community partners will also be essential.
