Provide high quality support to veterans and their families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
15th August, 2025RSL Queensland is a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation delivering innovative programs and initiatives that support veterans and their families. With Australia's most successful prize home lottery backing us, we're able to provide life-changing support services, fund world-first research, and use state-of-the-art tech to help more veterans in better ways.
About the opportunity:
You will provide comprehensive, evidence-based, and person-centred support to veterans and families facing housing challenges. Utilising your expertise in trauma-informed and strengths-based case management, you will empower clients to overcome barriers to securing and maintaining safe, stable, and sustainable housing. You will guide clients through the complexities of the rental market, and assist them in accessing public, social and community housing options where eligible, fostering resilience and housing security.
Reporting to our Team Leader – Housing Support and as part of the Service Delivery Team, you'll play a key role in the delivery of first-class homelessness support to the veteran community and their families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and providing safe, compassionate, integrated and holistic homelessness support
- Fostering active veteran and/or family engagement in the identification, development and implementation of individualised housing goals through personalised case management plans.
- Case managing clients who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
- Assisting with applications for social and community housing; private rental applications; and tenancy sustainment strategies and support.
Qualifications and experience:
To be eligible to apply, you'll have completed an undergraduate degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, Health Sciences (or equivalent). Experience working in housing and homelessness services, with a strong understanding of relevant policies, support frameworks, and community resources will strengthen your application. We also invite applications from recent graduates. Your understanding of the ADF environment and its unique sensitivities would also be highly regarded.
