Job Description:

This role involves assisting the kitchen staff in various tasks such as dishwashing, cleaning, and food preparation. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized properly. Additionally, you will assist with stock management, waste disposal, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dishwashing: Wash dishes and utensils using industrial dishwashers or by hand as required.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, including countertops, sinks, equipment, bins, and floors.
  • Food Preparation Support: Assist kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients as directed, and making food.
  • Stock Management: Assist with the receiving, storage, and rotation of food supplies and ingredients.
  • Waste Management: Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables in accordance with waste management guidelines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, toasters, and slicers.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
