We are seeking a public policy professional to join our team focused on working with the Australian Government. This role will enable BHP to better understand Australian public policy, make informed decisions, and share our perspectives with government and other stakeholders. The position can be based in any of our BHP capital city offices in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, or Adelaide.

About You
We are seeking a candidate with the following skills:
- Practical experience in Australian public policy making, both at the political level and through working with the Australian Public Service.
- Strong policy analysis skills and the ability to quickly understand and interpret policy change, and then advise senior leaders on the commercial implications.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with experience in dealing with a wide variety of senior audiences.
- Strong ability to develop deep relationships with stakeholders both within an organisation and externally.
- Business and commercial acumen, with direct experience in a commercial environment (such as in a public company or a major consultancy) being desirable but not essential.
- Experience in the resources industry is desirable but not essential.
- A bachelor's degree or higher in law, commerce, or economics is desirable but not essential.
