As a Clinical Healthcare Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centered quality clinical services to individuals with disabilities.

Duties of the Role
  • Developing comprehensive health care plans and other clinical care plans for people with disabilities who have a range of functional abilities and complex needs. This involves assessing individual requirements and creating tailored care strategies.
  • Providing nursing care to clients with urinary catheter, PEG and bowel care needs, including coaching and oversight to support staff in these and other care areas.
  • Coordinating clinical supports within resources, policies, and guidelines to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensuring day-to-day administrative processes operate effectively and providing feedback to the Service Manager and Clinical Lead on service provision.
  • Reviewing and coordinating person-centred support services that align with individual/lifestyle plans; monitoring and coaching support staff on implementing plan goals, expected service standards, and associated complexities.
  • Building work relationships with local community partnerships (including families and carers) and other stakeholders within and external to the organisation.
  • Promoting a commitment to employment equity and diversity, workplace health and safety (WHS), risk management, and ethical practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent, including holding a current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Current NDIS and WWCC certifications.
  • Knowledge of human rights and challenges facing individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in working with and supporting adults and/or children with complex disability.
  • Desirable: experience working with Indigenous Australians.
