Job Opportunity: Community Development Specialist

The role of a Community Development Specialist is crucial in achieving significant growth and quality impacts. This position will play a vital part in coordinating and managing the Local Programs Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director of Programs and Institutional Relations in managing local emergency, welfare, and development projects.
  • Contribute to organisational planning and strategic direction setting for IRAUS local programs.
  • Manage and motivate staff and volunteers involved in local programs and projects.
  • Assist with program development, assessing opportunities, designing proposals, and liaising with partners and beneficiaries.
  • Facilitate project implementation teams to efficiently manage each function of project cycle management.
  • Support local partners to develop their capacities to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate local and international projects.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role at a local level, a degree qualification in the social sciences, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Skill Requirements:
  • Significant previous experience in a similar role.
  • Qualified to a degree level, ideally in the social sciences.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with local programs in a community development setting.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Cross-cultural communication skills and knowledge of Islamic faith values.
