Your Role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality clinical speech pathology services to clients/patients using evidence-based clinical practice skills. Ensure that your practice aligns with Professional Standards for Speech Pathology Australia and SJGHC policies and guidelines.

The Position
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and therapy programs with short- and long-term goals.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate clinical documentation and perform administrative tasks as required, including communicating assessment results and therapy outcomes to referring parties and other stakeholders.
  • Prioritize your caseload effectively, participating in relevant clinical review meetings and case conferences as necessary.
  • Collaborate with patients, carers, colleagues, medical, nursing, allied health, support staff, external agencies, and the private sector to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care.
  • Educate patients/carers on assessment, treatment, and post-discharge management, and arrange discharge summaries/referrals to other services as needed.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment, complemented by strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective time management and organizational abilities are crucial for efficiently coordinating your assigned caseload.

  • Competitive hourly rate: $42.12 to $58.23 (includes casual loading) + 11.5% superannuation.
