Waste Disposal Specialist

The primary responsibility of a Waste Disposal Specialist is to operate waste trucks efficiently and safely, ensuring the proper collection and disposal of waste in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a waste truck on a 2:1 roster, navigating through Tom Price and surrounding areas to collect and transport waste to designated facilities.
  • Unload controlled waste at approved waste or transit facilities, adhering to strict protocols for safe handling and disposal.
  • Deliver potable water as required, maintaining accurate records of delivery locations and quantities.
  • Maintain accurate records of waste collection information, including routes, tonnage, and any notable incidents.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and licensing conditions, ensuring continuous adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Report hazardous situations promptly, utilizing personal protective equipment and adhering to established safety procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid White Card certification.
  • Minimum HC License with extensive driving experience.
  • Grader Ticket qualification.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
  • Possess a clean National Police Clearance certificate.
  • Completion of Rio Tinto Inductions (or ability to obtain own).

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience operating waste trucks and hold relevant licenses and certifications. They should be able to work effectively in a team environment, maintain a professional image, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
