Senior Haematology Clinician Opportunity

This is a highly sought-after clinical position within the Department of Haematology at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services to patients with haematological conditions, including malignant and transplant indicated haematological conditions.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing expert clinical care to patients, both inpatients and outpatients, including participation in on-call and consults and bone marrow reporting rosters.
  • Completion of face-to-face clinics at Griffith Base Hospital per month, along with additional telehealth services to Murrumbidgee and local patients.
  • Contribution to the education, supervision and mentorship of haematology fellows, advanced trainees, and junior medical staff, nursing and allied health staff.
  • Participation as sub-investigator in review of clinical trials patients and completion of trials-associated tasks as required.
  • Contribution to ward rounds, clinical meetings and unit management meetings.

Key Requirements:
  • Possess specialist registration in Clinical Haematology with the Medical Board of Australia;
  • Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as per Staff Specialist NSW State Award;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Clinical Haematology commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • Experience in high-quality research relevant to the development of new knowledge and practices, commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment.
  • Ability to build and support teams, embrace change, earn respect, and foster loyalty;
  • Ability to provide compassionate care as evidenced by recent experience in a multidisciplinary team environment;
  • A demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and/or undergraduate levels.
