Commercial Expertise Opportunity

Job Description:

Seeking an experienced professional to manage commercial aspects of projects, encompassing contracts, claims, finance, and project controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Delivery of multidisciplinary commercial support for the project, including contracts management, commercial claims, finance, and project controls
  2. Driving the management, preparation, submission, and resolution of complex contract claims, including time-related and cost-based claims on major infrastructure projects
  3. Overseeing program-wide time and cost control, monthly forecasting, and preparation of robust monthly reporting with a particular emphasis on claims tracking and commercial risk mitigation
  4. Utilising advanced commercial negotiation skills to successfully resolve contractual issues, disputed claims, and variations in a collaborative and strategic manner
  5. Proactively responding to changes in client needs and expectations, and managing the development of collaborative relationships built on trust, transparency, and consistent commercial outcomes
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in commercial law, construction management, business management, engineering or a related discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of major project/program commercial requirements based on firsthand experience working for a large contractor
  • Ability to apply various techniques to seek constructive outcomes to contract negotiations, including ability to influence others and defend commercial positions
