Job Title: Young People Support Officer

The NPY Women's Council is seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to support young people in the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara region in central Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have a strong focus on engagement, education and employment of young people. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Anangu staff and other teams to provide enjoyable, educational recreation activities
  • Supporting young people to attend the Iwara Program
  • Developing local staff to deliver programs
  • Engaging in leadership courses and youth work or other relevant training and development

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A willingness to engage in leadership courses and youth work or other relevant training and development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High level of cultural awareness and understanding of the NPY region
