Network Security Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in network security, including experience with firewalls, switches, routers, and SNAT/NAT.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. You should be able to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and have a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Monitor network data streams and event log data to ensure that gateway operations are optimised and maintained.
  • Improve vulnerability management to ensure that all vulnerabilities to the network are identified and treated in accordance with set guidelines.
  • Ensure that service availability meets or exceeds customer service availability guidelines.
  • Maintain agreed security records and documentation.
  • Investigate identified security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommend any required actions.
Requirements
  • Network experience, including switches, routers, SNAT/NAT.
  • Firewall experience, preferably with a mix of stateful and Layer 7 firewalls.
  • Experience with Solaris or Linux/Unix operating systems and associated commands and concepts.
  • Troubleshooting experience, including the ability to perform root cause analysis on network/computer issues.
  • A general understanding of computer/network security policies and enforcement.
  • Experience with load balancing and DNS environments.
