We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Product Design Engineer to join our team at 11 Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy and experience in product design and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new products from initial customer contact to customer approval and production handover.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their product requirements and provide technical expertise throughout the design process.
- Work with metallurgists and production engineers to select and improve materials for specific applications.
- Interpret customer drawings and information to various acceptance criteria, tolerances, and standards.
- Utilize CAD drafting and modeling software for new products, processes, equipment, structures, modifications, and plant layouts.
- Liaise with Production and Quality departments to provide technical product support.
- Observe and interpret production data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct trials for approval of designs and evaluation of product performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in product design and development, project management, and metallurgy.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including casting simulation software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to follow working plans and prioritize accordingly.
- Able to work autonomously and within a group.
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 to $80,000 per annum, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
