Senior Mining Engineering Position

We are seeking an experienced Principal Mining Engineer to take ownership of long-term planning and mine design. This pivotal leadership role requires technical excellence, strategic foresight, and a strong focus on sustainable underground operations.

The successful candidate will lead the development of comprehensive mine plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. They will also contribute to project studies and expansion planning, providing technical inputs that are accurate and forward-thinking.

This senior-level position offers exposure within the corporate team and opportunities for growth and development. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, this role is based in our Perth office on a Monday–Friday roster, with site travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of mine plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Act as the Reserve Competent Person, ensuring technical rigour and compliance in ore reserve reporting.
  • Contribute to project studies and expansion planning, providing technical inputs.
  • Prepare schedules for pricing purposes and contract tenders.
  • Apply expertise in long-hole open stoping with paste backfill to safely maximise ore recovery.
  • Drive collaboration across geology, metallurgy, and operations to align designs with business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in mining engineering with demonstrated leadership in underground operations.
  • Expertise in long-hole open stoping with paste backfill is essential.
  • Experience as a Competent Person for Ore Reserves (preferably in lithium or similar mineralisation styles).
  • Proficiency in Deswik mine planning software is essential.
