Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity for you to expand your horizons, share your nursing skills and knowledge with colleagues, and learn something new every shift.

About the Role

The Registered Nurse Grade 2 will work across multiple departments on a 24/7 rotating roster. Allocation of shifts will be managed by the Nursing Workforce Unit according to organisational requirements. As part of the Nurse Pool Team, you will gain experience in specialty areas across all campuses.

You will also have the flexibility to work within a variety of clinical settings, including Acute, Continuing Care, Mental Health, and Specialty areas such as ICU, Emergency, and Perioperative. You will be supported by the Clinical Nurse Educator for the Nursing Workforce Unit.

This is an exciting opportunity to practice within your current scope of practice, acknowledge the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of individuals and groups, and act as an advocate for patients within organisational and management structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice within current scope of practice in accordance with legislation and policy.
  • Practise in a way that acknowledges the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of individuals/groups and aligning to Austin Health's organisational values.
  • Act as an advocate for patients within organisational and management structures of Austin Health.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Be a current employee on a permanent contract at 0.6 EFT or above.
  • Provide a reference from your current manager who supports your application.
