At Aon, we are seeking a skilled Senior Insurance Broker to join our National Team in Canberra, which specialises in the delivery of best-in-class risk management solutions for top-tier mid-market clients.


The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Insurance Broker, a demonstrated technical understanding of a broad range of Commercial Insurance products, and hold Tier 1 Qualifications in Insurance.


The Commercial Insurance Manager is responsible for providing best in class service for a key portfolio of diverse commercial clients, working closely with their team members to implement strategies which focus on growth and retention of the team portfolio.


The role involves leading a diverse portfolio of clients across the general insurance space, managing key stakeholder relationships, and enhancing the client experience.


In this role, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the Commercial business, achieve your renewal and new business budget, and mentor and develop team members within the region.


The successful candidate will have excellent client relationship management capabilities, experience or interest in mentorship and/or team leadership, outstanding communication and presentation skills, and an entrepreneurial flair with demonstrated new business success.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:



  • Developing new and profitable business within the Commercial segment.
  • Identifying development opportunities for your designated portfolio and design of appropriate servicing solutions.
  • Mentorship and development of team members within the region.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Commercial business.
  • Achieving your renewal and new business budget.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and/or relevant working experience, organisational skills to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment, and leadership and management experience.
