Job Title: Financial Management Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our team in a key support role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a broad range of financial functions, including end-of-month processing, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, leave liability management, credit card management, travel and expense management, as well as providing procurement and support services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is able to meet deadlines, communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a small team.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-of-month processing, including preparing and posting journals, reviewing general ledger balances, preparing monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting the finance officer who performs accounts payable and receivable functions, cash management activities, leave liability management, credit card management, travel and expense management as well as providing procurement and support services.
  • Coordinating the development of budgets, including TM1 and departmental liaison.
  • Ability to work within a team in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines, good communication skills, as well as well-developed planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A background working as a finance or administrative officer (preferably with experience in a government environment).
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resilience and the ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Personal drive and initiative.
  • Ability to work in a small team within a complex and fast-paced work environment.
