The role of the rehabilitation consultant involves taking a holistic approach, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support the client's journey from rehabilitation to healing. This may involve performing various assessments based on the client's area of clinical expertise, collaborating with stakeholders including employees who have suffered injury or illness, medical specialists, and other treatment providers.
The rehabilitation consultant will work across local Defence Force bases in this hybrid role, with the location varying between the APM office, client site (mainly RAAF Base Amberley) and work from home options. The key requirements for this position include current unrestricted registration with relevant bodies, tertiary qualifications in occupational therapy or related fields, clinical reasoning, ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams, passion to help people rehabilitate, and occupational rehabilitation experience is highly regarded.
