We are seeking an experienced Category Business Manager to join our team at Symbion, a leading marketer and distributor of healthcare, medical, and pharmaceutical products. Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category management strategies to meet the needs of our customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Manage changes to PBS products and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all ranged products meet required hurdle rates and support from Symbion brands and groups.
- Plan and execute promotional activities with suppliers to grow business and revenue.
- Negotiate deals and contracts with suppliers to secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Present new partnering ideas and concepts to suppliers to drive Symbion business and maximize commercial outcomes.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, including the impact of generic manufacturers and patent expiries on the pharmaceuticals market.
- Negotiate exit strategies with suppliers for clearance of coded products.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Forecast and manage inventory levels to optimize business performance.
- Tertiary qualifications in pharmacy and business management.
- Pharmacist background with 5+ years relevant work experience in Ethical/OTC category management roles.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic category management plans to drive growth and revenue.
- Commercial acumen, including understanding of COGS, margin, pricing, and forecasting.
- Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian pharmaceuticals industry, including the PBS and CSO.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
- Strong stakeholder management, relationship building, and influencing skills.
