Category Management Expert

In this exciting opportunity, you'll be working closely with the Category Manager to understand the medium to long-term business needs of internal stakeholders, shaping impactful category management plans that drive sustainable growth.
As a Category Specialist, you'll have the chance to craft innovative procurement strategies by analyzing market trends and leveraging valuable market intelligence. Your work will ensure that category requirements align with business objectives while fostering strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Category Manager to connect with internal stakeholders and gain a deep understanding of medium to long-term business needs.
- Craft innovative procurement and sourcing strategies by analyzing market trends and building valuable market intelligence.
- Collaborate closely with the strategic sourcing team to ensure category requirements align with both immediate objectives and long-term goals.
- Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively address challenges to maintain strong relationships.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation across sourcing categories, maximizing value throughout the contract lifecycle.
Requirements:
- At least 5+ years of experience in a procurement/contracts role.
- Tertiary qualification in business management, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing a procurement function or improving existing procurement practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
