Job Title: Construction Lawyer

This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Construction Lawyer to provide expert advice on construction law and infrastructure agreements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project advice, contract negotiation and drafting with a focus on construction contracts, consultancy agreements and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Advice: Provide project advice to developer clients and large asset owners on construction law and infrastructure agreements
  • Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Prepare consultancy agreements, project term sheets, letters of intent, early works agreements, ECI and EPC contracts, tender contract documentation, and ancillary agreements
  • Civil and Building Construction Contracts: Prepare, review, and negotiate civil and building construction contracts for commercial, retail, industrial and institutional property development, as well as civil and mining works and infrastructure
  • Tender Submissions and Contract Negotiations: Advise contractors and subcontractors on tender submissions and construction contract negotiations
  • Infrastructure Planning and Agreements: Advise clients on infrastructure planning, funding and agreements, ensuring alignment with planning legislation
  • Support to Litigation Team: Assist our litigation team in tribunals involving issues such as security and retention, variation and contract payment claims and defects

About You:

  • Must have 2-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of construction obligations supporting major development projects
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating various construction and infrastructure agreements
  • Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work consistently
  • Excellent client service orientation with a desire to build strong client relationships
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
