Job Title: Forensic Stenography Officer

Forensic stenographers transcribe audio recordings of medical procedures, pathology reports, and other critical case information. As a key member of the Case Management Services Team, you will provide administrative support to our high-performing team in the Victorian Public Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe audio recordings with precision and accuracy
  • Manage and maintain accurate records systems
  • Provide stenographic services to support the production of highly confidential medico-legal reports
  • Retrieve and track case records as requested

Requirements:

  • Experience in medical stenography (audio typing/transcription)
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical and scientific terminology (particularly pathology)
  • Audio typing proficiency of 70-80 words per minute
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
