Senior Medical Consultant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Consultant to join our team as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will provide clinical services in child and adolescent psychiatry at a Consultant level, participate in teaching and training activities, and contribute to the development of mental health services in the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services in child and adolescent psychiatry at a Consultant level, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, including the supervision of junior medical staff and the development of educational programs for medical students and junior doctors.
  • Contribute to the development of mental health services in the Northern Territory, including the development of policies and procedures, and the provision of expert advice to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.

Requirements:

  • FRACP or equivalent qualification in Psychiatry.
  • Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, including experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
