Job Title: Aeromedical Professionals Wanted

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced aeromedical professionals who wish to be considered for a role delivering rapid aeromedical interventions, police response, and search & rescue operations in Australia's most challenging environment.

The successful candidate will serve as the vital link in Tasmania's health and Police network, saving lives and improving patient outcomes for isolated regional and remote communities.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for highly skilled individuals to join our team and deliver critical care services across the state. As an aeromedical professional, you will play a crucial role in responding to emergencies, providing medical support, and facilitating the safe transportation of patients.

  • Assist in carrying out all aeromedical, search and rescue, emergency, and counter disaster operations.
  • Ensure that all flight and task documentation is accurately completed and that all crews are adequately briefed and de-briefed on any deficiencies promptly addressed.
  • Carry out all duties and training in accordance with our Operations Manual.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in aeromedical retrieval, search and rescue, or aerial law enforcement/military.
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen interest in being part of a team.
  • A safety-first attitude and enthusiasm for achieving and maintaining the highest level of competency for Medical Transport and Emergency Service Operations.
  • Hold or obtain a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) Tasmania.
  • Domiciled within 2 hours drive of Hobart.
  • A minimum of 500 hours as a Helicopter Aircrew Officer.
  • A Certificate IV Aviation - Aircrew Officer qualification.
  • SAR/EMS experience on B412 or EC/H145 aircraft.
  • A Winch Endorsement qualification.
  • NVIS qualification.
  • A CASA Class 2 Medical Certificate.
  • A Level 2 Occupational Health and Safety First Aid Qualification.
  • Crew Resource Management / Human Factors knowledge.
  • HUET / EBS Qualified.
  • Dangerous Good Awareness.
  • Ability to pass the LifeFlight Functionality Assessment (ACO).
Desirable Requirements

The following qualifications would be highly regarded:

  • A minimum of 100 hours NVIS experience, including night winching.
  • Front Left Hand Seat Operations (IFR).
  • An AROC (Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate).
  • FLIR operations.
  • Be fully vaccinated against MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B.
