About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Australia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex systems and solutions for the Australian Defence Force.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
  • Engage with system design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that the design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product; consistent across all subsystems, delivering system design to meet performance requirements.
  • Perform technical risk analysis as required in your work as the electrical engineer to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments, and risk mitigation actions.
  • Ensure assigned electrical systems/sub-systems are developed and implemented according to appropriate standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; securing Raytheon's reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions to our customers.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic, Communications, Computer Systems, Cyber); holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including ability to attain RPEQ recognition.
  • Experience in an engineering discipline including involvement in one or more of the following engineering practices - Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design, and Verification and Validation.
  • Experience in effectively representing engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
  • Practical to substantial knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
  • Experience in product configuration control.
  • This position may require availability to travel when required.
