Job Title: Specialist, Compliance Analyst
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist, Compliance Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the behaviour of regulated entities by developing regulatory activities to test compliance, supporting thematic reviews and projects, reviewing and analysing documents to investigate potentially serious non-compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate the behaviour of AUSTRAC's regulated entities by developing regulatory activities to test compliance, supporting thematic reviews and projects, reviewing and analysing documents to investigate potentially serious non-compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.
- Create assessment plans, assessment reports and other related documentation, working with other parts of the agency to develop strategies for responding to serious compliance issues, and leading or assisting with the execution of those strategies.
- Investigate potentially serious non-compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.
- Develop initiatives that influence positive behaviour and support regulated entities to meet their obligations under the AML/CTF Act; contribute to the development of solutions to AUSTRAC's regulatory challenges, including strengthening our regulatory capability.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the AML/CTF Act and associated rules, and AUSTRAC processes, guidelines and regulations; engage with internal and external stakeholders, such as AUSTRAC management, regulated entities, partner agencies and other government agencies.
- Contribute to the management of Regulatory Operations staff, including responsibility for staff performance and development, where relevant; support Branch leadership with the improvement of systems and procedures that enhance the efficiency and transparency of operational activity.
- Provide expertise and technical support to the team; contribute to executive briefings, staff messages, speeches and correspondence.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 and associated rules.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
