Job Overview

This position is at the forefront of driving strategic initiatives to foster Hobart's economic growth. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of the City's Economy Strategy, driving economic growth and business development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive economic growth and business development in Hobart.
  • Conduct research projects to stay informed of local, national, and international trends affecting Hobart's economy.
  • Collaborate with state and federal governments to attract investment and promote Hobart's knowledge economy.
  • Provide expert advice on business initiatives, smart city technology, parking and kerbside management, and community safety.
  • Promote the City's economic development efforts to stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Inspire a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence within your team.

You are expected to have a relevant degree and strong communication skills. A driver's licence is required, and postgraduate qualifications are a plus. You must excel at delivering innovative projects and building strategic relationships to be successful in this role.
