
Talent Pathways Boys Development Lead

The Talent Pathways Boys Head Coach oversees the strategic development of young male footballers, creating a positive environment that fosters individual growth.
This is a fixed-term role responsible for setting and maintaining a well-balanced high-performance culture. A key objective is to ensure the male athletes in the Tasmanian Talent Pathway receive optimal development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish a safe, inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all participants.
- Foster player development over team success.
- Promote an integrated program between girls and boys, with head coaches sharing knowledge and feedback.
- Facilitate regular player feedback, vision analysis, game statistics, and reporting using platforms like Smartabase, Hudl, and Sportscode.
- Create a culturally sensitive high-performance environment, identifying and developing athletes from diverse backgrounds.
- Lead coaching development in the region, focusing on community and school coaches.
- Design innovative coaching methods to enhance player development, fundamentals, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Wellbeing Coordinators to support players' welfare and wellness management.
- Maintain compliance with safeguarding policies, such as WWCC.
- Support the integration of boys' and girls' programs.
- Build connections with local clubs, leagues, and schools to support the talent program.
- Stay updated on best practices in talent development and identify future coaching potential within the region.
- Organize weekly leadership meetings to monitor and plan program activities.
- Contribute to State Academy programs and promote a positive image of the AFL talent pathway.
