About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dietetic Assistant to join our nutrition care team. As a Dietetic Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a dietitian to perform clinical and non-clinical duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the provision of a safe, effective, and efficient nutrition care service to inpatients. You will work closely with dietitians and food services to meet the needs of patients on therapeutic diets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the clinical dietitian with implementation and monitoring of prescribed nutrition care plans.
  • Apply clinical nutrition/therapeutic diet protocols as delegated by the supervising dietitian.
  • Facilitate access to food and fluids for patients on therapeutic diets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate III in Nutrition & Dietary Practices or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience as a dietitian assistant or hospital healthcare worker.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
  • Demonstrated knowledge to assist in the provision of nutrition support.
  • Commitment to learning and safe delivery of nutrition care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others involved in nutrition care.
