Assistant Venue Manager Job Description

The Sporting Globe is a hospitality and sports entertainment brand that offers a unique dining experience. Our mission is to provide high-quality pub food, a large range of beers, cocktails, and spirits in a welcoming family atmosphere.

We operate state-of-the-art venues with dozens of screens, making us the ultimate destination to eat, drink and catch a game. Since launching The Sporting Globe, our business has been recognized as a leader by the Victorian Australian Hotels Association and Fox Sports voted as a finalist for Best Sporting Bar, Pub Tab & Specialty Venue.

We are seeking a hard-working and vibrant Assistant Venue Manager to support our management team. This role requires someone who is passionate about leadership, consistency, teamwork, training and coaching, and providing excellent customer service.

  • Manage up to 30 staff, including training, rostering, and on-shift management.
  • Operate across the venue, including running the restaurant, bar, and functions.
  • Oversee the FOH operational aspects of the business.
  • Ensure adherence to OH&S and Food Hygiene procedures and conduct monthly audits to maintain standards.
  • Identify opportunities to build sales and revenue while controlling costs.
  • Deliver superior service and quality to ensure outstanding guest experiences.
  • Drive a positive working environment and lead by example as a senior venue leader.
  • Maintain current market knowledge and engage in promotional/marketing concepts to assist in business growth.

Requirements:

  • 3 years' Hospitality Management experience
  • Exposure to both Bar and Restaurant environments
  • Experience in controlling financial aspects of a business
  • The ability to lead, train, and develop a team
  • RSA, RSG, TAB Basics & Advanced essential
  • First aid certificate preferred but not essential
  • Approved Managers Certificate preferred but not essential
